YMCA Branch Child Care Programs

Licensed Preschool

The YMCA of San Diego County operates several preschools throughout the county, serving children
2-1/2 through 5 years of age. These programs are licensed by the state of California and Community Care Licensing, and comply with the requirements of the state of California Title 22 regulations.

Licensed Before and After School Programs

The YMCA of San Diego County operates licensed before and after school programs throughout the county, serving school-age children 5 to 12 years of age. These programs are located at YMCA main branches and at school sites. They are licensed by the state of California and Community Care Licensing and comply with the requirements of the state of California Title 22 regulations.

After School Education and Safety (ASES)

YMCA of San Diego partners with districts throughout San Diego County to operate ASES-funded before and after school programs on many school sites. These programs are available to students who attend the school during the school day. The state of California funds these programs without cost to participating families. The programs focus on academic assistance and enrichment.

Child Watch Programs

Child Watch programs are offered at designated branches as a benefit of membership in the YMCA of San Diego County. These programs provide drop-in babysitting while parents use the facilities and/or participate in a YMCA program. Parents must be members of the YMCA and remain on-site while their child is in Child Watch. The programs are exempt from California State license requirements.
