NAVY EFMP Respite Care
EFMP Respite Care helps Navy families, who have children with special needs, by providing parents up to 40 hours per month to attend appointments and to rest while their children are being cared for.
To receive EFMP Respite Care, you must:
- Be an active duty Navy family.
- Have a child(ren) identified as category IV or V in the Navy Exceptional Family Member Program.
- Child(ren) receiving care must be living in the home full time with the active duty Navy Sponsor.

Navy families that are enrolled in the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) at the following bases may receive respite service:
- Naval Base San Diego
- Naval Base Point Loma
- Naval Base Coronado
- Naval Medical Center
- Naval Amphibious Base
- Other Assigned Installations
