Resource and Referral

Program Requirements

San Diego CARES participants are assigned to a Professional Development Track based on the number of units completed in Child Development and current Child Development permit level.

  • Entry Track - Completed less than 6 units of Child Development college coursework.
  • Permit Track - Completed 6 units or more of Child Development college coursework.
  • Degree Track - Currently hold a teacher permit or higher and/or an AA degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or approved major.
  • Advisor Track - Currently hold a Master Teacher permit or higher, or a BA degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or approved major.
