Respite Unit
Types of Programs
The Respite Unit offers assistance to families who have children with developmental disabilities, ages 3 to 22. These programs include:San Diego Regional Center Respite
The CRS Respite Unit provides families short-term relief from the continual care of the child with developmental disabilities.After School Programs for Teens
After school program designed to provide supervision and support to high school students with disabilities and special needs who have working parents.RESPITE BENEFITS FAMILIES
An experienced respite worker can benefit the family in many ways. Below are a few examples of positive interactions that could occur in the parents' absence.
- Encouraging interaction through play, reading, and other age-appropriate activities
- Assisting with goals and skill-building
- Assisting with grooming and dressing
- Assisting with schoolwork
- Assisting with feeding
