THE Y FOR
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
We focus our work in three key areas, because nurturing the potential of kids, helping people live healthier, and supporting our neighbors are fundamental to strengthening communities.
Who is Eligible for Respite Service?
Any of the following qualifies a family for respite:
- Have a child age 3 to 18 who has a developmental disability and is a consumer of the San Diego Regional Center.
- Be parents who are consumers of the San Diego Regional Center and could benefit from a respite break.
All referrals to the Respite Unit come directly from the San Diego Regional Center. Regional Center case managers decide whether you qualify for respite and how many care hours per month you will receive.
San Diego Regional Center coordinates services for individuals with mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy, and any syndrome that has characteristics similar to mental retardation.
Call the San Diego Regional Center at 858.576.2996, or go to the SDRC web site for more information.
